Board of Trustees
The Board of Trustees serves as the governing body for the Town of Mountain View. Composed of five elected members—including a Mayor, Vice Mayor, and three Trustees, the Board is responsible for overseeing the town’s policies, finances, operations, and overall direction. Trustees are elected at-large and are expected to represent the interests of the entire community.

Policy and Ordinance Development: Propose, discuss, and adopt ordinances and policies that govern the Town’s operations and promote public welfare.

Budget Oversight: Approve the annual budget, review financial reports, and ensure responsible fiscal management across all departments.

Town Operations Oversight: Provide general oversight of municipal services such as streets, water, sewer, cemetery, and parks through coordination with department heads and the Town Clerk/Treasurer.

Appointments and Personnel Matters: Vote on hiring, appointments to boards and committees, and certain personnel actions. The Board evaluates the Town Clerk/Treasurer and oversees major staffing decisions when necessary.

Public Engagement: Encourage citizen participation, ensure transparency in government operations, and maintain accountability to the residents of Mountain View.

Compliance and Governance: Ensure adherence to Oklahoma state laws, including the Open Meeting Act and Open Records Act, and uphold ethical standards in municipal decision-making.
